20 лет назад был снесен дом мещанина Лаженицына (Розы Люксембург ул., д. 15).

Место на углу Николаевской (Ленина) и Морозовской улиц с 1903 года принадлежало Григорию Лаженицыну. В начале 1910-х годов он построил деревянный на каменном цокольном этаже дом довольно необычной для Вятки архитектуры. Здание имело парадный вход со скошенного угла, обращённого к перекрёстку. Над входом возвышалась декоративная башенка с восьмигранным шатром, который покрывала металлическая черепица.

После того как в советское время дом стал коммунальным, башня, кованый навес и фигурные водосточные трубы были убраны. В середине прошлого века здание также получило деревянную обшивку. В конце января 2005 года дом был снесён, на его месте сейчас располагается «сквер с бегемотиками».
