بعد ارتكاب ميليشيات الأسد مجزرة الكيمياوي في الغوطة الشرقية قررت فصائل الثورة السورية من قطع خطوط إمدادات النظام لمدينة #حلب عبر قطع طريق (حماة - حلب) فأطلقت بتاريخ 22/7/2013 معركة سُميت بـ رص الصفوف والتي استمرت حتى 28/8/2013 ومع استمرار معركة "الجسد الواحد" في ريف حماة الشرقي, تمكن الثوار في معركة رص الصفوف من تحرير بلدة خناصر ومعامل الدفاع و 13 قرية أخرى في ريف حلب الجنوبي وقطع خطوط الإمدادات الاستراتيجية لميليشيات الأسد عن مدينة #حلب.
وقد خسرت ميليشيات الأسد وميليشيات ما يسمى بـ "حزب الله اللبناني" الداعمة لها أكثر من 200 قتيلاً من بينهم العقيد "عبد الكريم مخلوف" قريب المجرم بشار الأسد.
