53-летний Кавелашвили — бывший футболист, депутат парламента Грузии с 2016 года. Он один из лидеров группы депутатов партии «Сила народа», формально отколовшихся от правящей партии.
👉На парламентских выборах 26 октября, результаты которых не признает президент Грузии и оппозиция, Кавелашвили, как и другие лидеры «Силы народа», был в партийном списке «Грузинской мечты».
👉Выборы президента пройдут в Грузии 14 декабря. Впервые президент страны будет выбран не прямым всеобщим голосованием, а избирательной коллегией из 300 человек. Президент будет выбран сроком на пять лет.
