Tadanori Yokoo & Renzaburo Shibata.
Uro Tsuki Yata [Yata, the Vagabond].
Published by Shueisha, 1975
ISBN: 00937800043041

This rare edition of Uro Tsuki Yata (1975) is a collaboration between novelist Renzaburo Shibata and Japanese graphic design megastar Tadanori Yokoo. The novel follows the adventures of Yata, a wandering vagabond, set against the backdrop of historical Japan. I’ve never actually read the story, but the book itself stands out for its experimental design, featuring vibrant color illustrations and innovative layouts that blend traditional narrative with avant-garde visual storytelling. Something that I really miss in many modern books.

Again, in contrast to Facebook, Google and Twitter, Telegram's founder Pavel Durov runs his company in relative secrecy from Dubai. The S&P 500 fell 1.3% to 4,204.36, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.7% to 32,943.33. The Dow posted a fifth straight weekly loss — its longest losing streak since 2019. The Nasdaq Composite tumbled 2.2% to 12,843.81. Though all three indexes opened in the green, stocks took a turn after a new report showed U.S. consumer sentiment deteriorated more than expected in early March as consumers' inflation expectations soared to the highest since 1981. The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. Multiple pro-Kremlin media figures circulated the post's false claims, including prominent Russian journalist Vladimir Soloviev and the state-controlled Russian outlet RT, according to the DFR Lab's report. "Markets were cheering this economic recovery and return to strong economic growth, but the cheers will turn to tears if the inflation outbreak pushes businesses and consumers to the brink of recession," he added.
