Он взглянул на меня, и свет из комнаты выхватил его лицо — спокойное, почти отрешенное: — Я помню когда Гаусс был здесь, у меня. Мы тогда много обсуждали зачем всё это нужно, и я ему задал тот же вопрос. Он ответил лишь, потому что к этому тянет. А теперь его нет.
Я прекрасно понял что он хотел этим сказать.
Перед уходом я вручил ему часы, купленные неделю назад. Носи! Когда вернёшься — отдашь лично.
