Так жуки подготавливают (инокулируют) "грибную рассаду" на новом месте, например, на поврежденных или погоревших деревьях.

В целом же жук встречается очень в разнообразных местах: на болотах, в гнездах птиц и норах млекопитающих, в пещерах, в древесине и т.д. #экология
