У правоохранителей, по их словам, пока нет оснований считать, что судно причастно к повреждению кабеля. M/T Line ходит под флагом африканского государства Гвинея-Бисау. В последние месяцы это судно совершало рейсы между Россией и Турцией. 26 декабря в связи с повреждением Estlink 2 между Финляндией и Эстонией было задержано другое судно, которое относят к российскому "теневому флоту" - танкер Eagle S, который вез нефть в Египет.
