Возложил венок к Монументу Победы, который находится в центре города-героя Минска.

В следующем году мы отметим великую дату — 80-летнюю годовщину Победы в Великой Отечественной войне. В Республике Беларусь бережно хранят нашу общую историю и память о бессмертном подвиге наших сограждан. Храбрые сыны белорусской земли вместе с нашими дедами и прадедами сражались с фашизмом за нашу Родину. Первый Герой Советского Союза из народа саха, Фёдор Кузьмич Попов, похоронен здесь, на белорусской земле. Он погиб, освобождая Беларусь от немецко-фашистских захватчиков.

Наш священный долг — чтить, беречь и приумножать вечную память защитников Отечества.

During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform. A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. "Like the bombing of the maternity ward in Mariupol," he said, "Even before it hits the news, you see the videos on the Telegram channels." Since its launch in 2013, Telegram has grown from a simple messaging app to a broadcast network. Its user base isn’t as vast as WhatsApp’s, and its broadcast platform is a fraction the size of Twitter, but it’s nonetheless showing its use. While Telegram has been embroiled in controversy for much of its life, it has become a vital source of communication during the invasion of Ukraine.
