Существует городская легенда, что данные корпуса зданий принадлежали герою Отечественной войны 1812 года генералу от инфантерии А.П.Ермолову, у которого было множество наследников, и чтобы им не пришлось делить между собой имущество отца, корпуса зданий были подарены городу под размещение пожарной части.
