Hill Top — дом в Озёрном крае, где Беатрис Поттер жила первые несколько лет после переезда из Лондона — после её смерти тоже перешёл Национальному трасту. теперь туда можно прийти, если у вас есть членство, или просто купив билет.

вспомнила, что мы побывали там примерно в это время 7 (!) лет назад.

мне особенно запомнилась фраза из письма Беатрис с забавной иллюстрацией (вольный перевод): "Лёжа в кровати, я смотрю, как по поросшему зелёной травой холму бродят овцы. Сквозь кривую призму оконного стекла они выглядят так: ..." (см. фото 3)

что сказать — я бы сейчас тоже не отказалась прямо из кровати смотреть на стада овец и зелёные холмы Озёрного края 😄
