Гонконгские учёные создали из чайного гриба заменитель пластика

Из чая и сахара они выращивают хорошо знакомую нам студенистую массу и используют её для производства бактериальной целлюлозы. Далее в структуру целлюлозы добавляют соевый белок и наносят композитное покрытие. После высыхания она превращается в тонкую биоразлагаемую, нетоксичную, съедобную и гибкую плёнку.

Получившийся материал планируют использовать в качестве биоразлагаемой упаковки, ведь он распадается в почве всего за 3-5 месяцев. Осталось сделать материал более прозрачным и водостойким. А ещё, говорят учёные, из него можно делать искусственную кожу.

К слову, в прошлом году Гонконг ввёл меры по сокращению использования пластика. Например, магазины и рестораны теперь не могут использовать посуду из полистирола и пластиковые столовые приборы. В этом году список «запрещёнки» дополнят столовые салфетки, зубная нить с пластиковой основой и другие одноразовые вещи.
