Министр обороны Франции Себастьян Лекорню и министр обороны Норвегии Бьорн Арильд Грам подписали документ о расширении оборонного сотрудничества между странами. Государства договорились укрепить сотрудничество в сфере защиты подводной инфраструктуры и военного присутствия на Крайнем Севере. В частности, страны будут организовывать совместное морское наблюдение и защиту критической подводной инфраструктуры, а также организовывать совместные учения.
Стоит отметить, что Норвегия планирует закупить 5 фрегатов в рамках укрепления своих военно-морских сил и норвежское руководство рассматривает Францию в качестве одной из стран, у которой можно закупить фрегаты.
