Стоимость минеральных ресурсов Украины - $26 трлн. Это по оценке канадской консалтинговой компании SecDev. Стратегические ресурсы - в том числе около 7 процентов мировых запасов титана, 20 процентов запасов графита и 500 000 тонн лития, необходимого для аккумуляторов электромобилей, не говоря уже о черноземе, угле, и других металлах - находятся на территории Украины - в том числе на тех самых «территориях в административных границах», которых требует Кремль.

Обращу внимание, что в последние недели из Киева возникла сравнительно свежая риторика-предложение о разделе этих ресурсов с Западом (а фактически - о передаче их в пользование Западу в обмен на помощь - это вполне публичная часть «плана победы» Зеленского). Думаю, что подобное предложение как раз направлено на промышленные круги, стоящие за Трампом (при Байдене подобного открыто не звучало, если заметили) с учетом вероятности его победы. Любопытно будет посмотреть на этот аспект потенциального «договорняка» с Дональдом.

The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. The regulator took order for the search and seizure operation from Judge Purushottam B Jadhav, Sebi Special Judge / Additional Sessions Judge. On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
