Если мы не хотим повторить путь большинства биографов офисного кресла, которые перечисляют три-четыре вехи его эволюции, то необходимо обратиться к опыту советского мебелестроения и упомянуть проект конторских стола и стула, разработанный выпускниками ВХУТЕИНа И. Лобовым и А. Кокоревым и опубликованный в журнале «Строительство Москвы» за октябрь 1929 г.

«Стул сконструирован таким образом, что спинка его дает удобное и правильное положение для спины сидящего. Стол сконструирован с учетом удобств для работающего и с соблюдением гигиенических требований».

As we by no means wish to replicate others’ attempts at reconstructing the evolution of the office chair with just three or four well-known examples, we need to explore the Soviet legacy in furniture-making as well. The October, 1929 issue of the Construction of Moscow magazine features a concept of an office chair and writing desk developed by I. Lobov and A. Kokorev, former VKHUTEIN’s students. Here is how the article describes this set:

“The chair is designed in such a way that its back provides a comfortable and healthy seating position. The desk was designed with the user’s comfort and hygienic requirements in mind”.
