Площадь возгорания составила 2000 квадратных метров. Для тушения огня использовали пенную атаку, подаваемую с пожарного поезда РЖД, а также охлаждение соседних зданий для предотвращения распространения огня.

Руководит операцией по ликвидации пожара временно исполняющий обязанности начальника Главного управления МЧС России по Республике Эдуард Идрисов.
