Новый мост станет важной частью перспективных транспортных коридоров «Тюмень – Тобольск – Сургут – Новый Уренгой – Надым – Салехард» и «Пермь – Ивдель – Ханты-Мансийск – Сургут – Нижневартовск – Томск», а также связующим крупнейших в мире районов по добыче углеводородного сырья с регионами России и другими странами.
Планируется, что работы завершат в 2026 году. Общая протяженность трассы нового мостового перехода – чуть более 45 км, в том числе 1,76 км моста.
