В сентябре 2020 года Пресненский суд Москвы осудил Ефремова за гибель человека в ДТП на Смоленской площади. Артист, в крови которого нашли алкоголь и наркотики, получил 8 лет колонии общего режима. Позже Мосгорсуд по апелляционной жалобе сократил срок до 7,5 года колонии.
