5 февраля на внеочередной сессии Гордумы депутаты приняли решение о досрочном сложении Евгением Кузьмичевым полномочий главы комиссии по соблюдению установленных ограничений и запретов.

Как пояснил председатель Гордумы Денис Соболев, Евгений Кузьмичев написал заявление о сложении полномочий по собственному желанию 15 января.

Депутаты проголосовали за сложение им полномочий председателя комиссии. Также народные избранники решили, что его преемником на данном посту станет Виктор Смоляков.

TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. "For Telegram, accountability has always been a problem, which is why it was so popular even before the full-scale war with far-right extremists and terrorists from all over the world," she told AFP from her safe house outside the Ukrainian capital. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback.
