Перед турниром отец Героя, полпред в УрФО Артем Жога, возложил цветы к памятнику сыну. Он поблагодарил родителей, прививающих детям Донбасса любовь к спорту, и отметил, что власти ЯНАО внесли существенный вклад в восстановление Волновахи.
В турнире приняли участие больше 100 юных спортсменов. Соревнования прошли в центре единоборств «Северный характер», который в конце прошлого года возвели ямальские строители. В нем дети занимаются самбо, греко-римской и вольной борьбой, рукопашным боем, тяжелой атлетикой и пауэрлифтингом.
