8 ноября в районе ул. Минина г. Нижнего Новгорода гражданский активист Андрей Сорочкин избил, а затем задушил своего престарелого отца 1938 г.р.. Как впоследствии сообщил оперативникам сам Сорочкин, он сделал это без каких-либо причин. Просто ему так захотелось.
В тот же день оппозиционер вывез тело отца в садоводческое товарищество, где расчленив его топором, попытался сжечь часть тела в бочке, а остальные закопал за участком.
На следующий день после случившегося, Сорочкин, пытаясь ввести оперативников в заблуждение, сам заявил о пропаже отца, но вскоре признался в совершённом убийстве.
20 сентября 2022 года Сорочкин был приговорён к штрафу в 200 тысяч рублей по обвинению в двух преступлениях, предусмотренных ч. 1 ст. 280.3. УК РФ за дискредитацию ВС РФ.
