German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has officially requested his American counterpart Pete Hegseth to provide a "roadmap" for the withdrawal of US troops from Europe, so that Berlin and its allies can plan their own defense efforts in advance.

🖍The sudden decisiveness has irritated some NATO members: they say that the mere request could provoke a real reduction in the presence of American units. But it is quite possible that Pistorius was prompted (I wonder whose idea this was) to make the request, so that Washington would have more external arguments in favor of reducing the contingent. After all, to be honest, nothing much will change for Germany with the departure of the Americans.
