This is by far the most depressing part of working at a fancy grocery store 35 boxes of fancy tomatoes down the drain Oh and BTW those are 15$ each or about 1.50$ per tiny ass tomato
And this is just a microcosm
The standards for produce is so high here that if any fruit or veggies are discolored/slightly bruised/ anything that's "unappealing" it gets put in shrink and just thrown away
Not given away/ donated, or even composted, just thrown straight in the trash compactor

I have a question for everyone:
Is doing the right thing for the wrong reasons still valid?
Apparently, we're getting a composter for the store, but it's because there's a kickback for every bin, whereas you have to pay to have the compactor emptied
