Обсуждение пройдет перед публикацией ежегодного отчета по стране со статусом кандидата.
Грузия получила статус кандидата в декабре 2023 года при условии продолжения реформ. Европейский совет также подчеркнул, что ожидает от Грузии «существенного усиления» ее соответствия политике ЕС, в том числе в отношении России.
В июне процесс вступления Грузии в ЕС был приостановлен по решению Брюсселя.
Посол ЕС в Грузии Павел Герчинский заявил, что правительство Грузии сделало заявления и приняло много противоречивых решений, которые, вместо того, чтобы приблизить Грузию к ЕС, отдалили страну от этой цели. @NGnewsgeorgia
