Ранее на заседании Совбеза ООН Гутерриш заявил, что нападения ХАМАС на Израиль «не происходили в вакууме», добавив, что «палестинский народ в течение 56 лет подвергался удушающей оккупации». Позже генсек попытался отказаться от своих слов.
«Жалобы палестинского народа не могут оправдать ужасные нападения ХАМАС. Эти ужасные нападения не могут оправдать коллективное наказание палестинского народа», — написал он в X (Twitter).
