Данные о запасах недр Икара хранятся в архивах Главуправления геологии Таджикистана. По данным ведомства, открытое в 1971 году советскими исследователями месторождение находится на высоте 2,6 - 3,2 км и является комплексным, кроме вольфрама и золота оно содержит уран и кобальт.
