23 сентября 1942 года была прорвана энергетическая блокада Ленинграда.

Решение о прокладке кабеля Военный совет Ленинградского фронта принял 7 августа 1942 года. Подводную линию энергетики смонтировали за 48 дней. Благодаря усилиям специалистов Ленинграда за время войны ни на один день не останавливалась подача энергии хлебозаводам, госпиталям, оборонным предприятиям.

После полного снятия блокады города «Кабель жизни» подняли со дна озера и использовали при ремонте городских линий. Большая часть кабеля была проложена под Невским проспектом.

Фрагмент «Кабеля жизни» храним в Музее обороны и блокады Ленинграда.

The channel appears to be part of the broader information war that has developed following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin has paid Russian TikTok influencers to push propaganda, according to a Vice News investigation, while ProPublica found that fake Russian fact check videos had been viewed over a million times on Telegram.
