Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. For example, WhatsApp restricted the number of times a user could forward something, and developed automated systems that detect and flag objectionable content. "Your messages about the movement of the enemy through the official chatbot … bring new trophies every day," the government agency tweeted. And indeed, volatility has been a hallmark of the market environment so far in 2022, with the S&P 500 still down more than 10% for the year-to-date after first sliding into a correction last month.
