Это сравнение, вынесенное в четвёртую книгу, затем забывается Августином до десятой книги. Участники обсудят потенциальные причины появления этой аналогии и её значение для общей концепции трактата. Предлагаемый доклад станет первой попыткой ответить на эти вопросы и проанализировать влияния различных разделов произведения на его содержание.
