Команда BI.ZONE Threat Intelligence продолжает отслеживать активность кластера Core Werewolf. В последних кампаниях злоумышленники начали использовать новый загрузчик, написанный на AutoIt. Кроме того, теперь группировка распространяет вредоносные файлы не только через электронную почту, но и через Telegram.
Как это было
Core Werewolf использовала RAR-архивы для распространения исполняемых файлов, представляющих собой самораспаковывающиеся архивы (SFX). Они были созданы с помощью 7-Zip, а внутри них находились:
🟦обфусцированный вредоносный AutoIt-скрипт, 🟦легитимный исполняемый файл интерпретатора AutoIt версии 3.3.16.1, 🟦документ формата PDF.
После запуска пользователем исполняемого файла содержимое извлекалось в каталог %TEMP%. Далее запускался вредоносный сценарий, в ходе которого интерпретатор AutoIt выполнял роль загрузчика следующей стадии.

Groups are also not fully encrypted, end-to-end. This includes private groups. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. "There are several million Russians who can lift their head up from propaganda and try to look for other sources, and I'd say that most look for it on Telegram," he said. Overall, extreme levels of fear in the market seems to have morphed into something more resembling concern. For example, the Cboe Volatility Index fell from its 2022 peak of 36, which it hit Monday, to around 30 on Friday, a sign of easing tensions. Meanwhile, while the price of WTI crude oil slipped from Sunday’s multiyear high $130 of barrel to $109 a pop. Markets have been expecting heavy restrictions on Russian oil, some of which the U.S. has already imposed, and that would reduce the global supply and bring about even more burdensome inflation.
