Восстановленная в 2006 году триумфальная арка "Царские ворота" шире, чем разрушенная большевикам в 1936 году. Почему? Чтобы автомобили нормально разъезжались!
Царский герб, кстати, сбили с арки в 1917 году.
Арка была построена 20–21 июня 1891 года в честь визита цесаревича Николая Александровича, будущего русского императора Николая II, в город Верхнеудинск (ныне Улан-Удэ).
