1 августа — День памяти жертв Первой мировой войны. Наш фотограф Владимир Иваний нашёл так называемые дома национального флага в Электрическом переулке, возведенные в первые годы той войны. Два дома были построены специально для семей воинов, погибших на фронте.
Деньги на строительство поступали от продажи флажков-триколоров, потому название у домов такое. Занималось этим Братолюбивое общество снабжения неимущих квартирами. С августа по октябрь 1914-го собрали 70 тысяч рублей — больше половины от необходимой на постройку суммы.
Дома стоят за большим корпусом известного дома вдов и сирот в Электрическом переулке (тогда он назывался Фирсановским). В квартирах была горячая вода, электричество, канализация. В 1930-е дома были надстроены. Геометка.
Обе фотографии сделаны с одной точки с разницей около 108 лет.

"The inflation fire was already hot and now with war-driven inflation added to the mix, it will grow even hotter, setting off a scramble by the world’s central banks to pull back their stimulus earlier than expected," Chris Rupkey, chief economist at FWDBONDS, wrote in an email. "A spike in inflation rates has preceded economic recessions historically and this time prices have soared to levels that once again pose a threat to growth."
