i genuinely do not understand how people do not know how to use computers on the most basic level. Ive worked with guys in factories who do not use a computer at their job, and do not use one at home either- they get a pass because they dont actually use computers ever. the people i dont understand are the one who's entire job revolves around using a computer. secretaries, accountants, cad engineers- these people use a computer for 8 hours a day at work. i fix the most basic of thing they could have resolved themselves and they ask me for advice about how to fix their computer at home. they have a computer at home so they are probably spending even more than 8 hours a day looking at a computer. yet if i install a new program and forget to create a desktop shortcut they think the program is not installed at all they dont know how to find it in the start menu. they dont even know how to search in the start menu. they often do now even know what a start menu is. what the fuck man

Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine, an account on the Telegram messaging platform posing as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged his armed forces to surrender. But Telegram says people want to keep their chat history when they get a new phone, and they like having a data backup that will sync their chats across multiple devices. And that is why they let people choose whether they want their messages to be encrypted or not. When not turned on, though, chats are stored on Telegram's services, which are scattered throughout the world. But it has "disclosed 0 bytes of user data to third parties, including governments," Telegram states on its website. Individual messages can be fully encrypted. But the user has to turn on that function. It's not automatic, as it is on Signal and WhatsApp. The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych.
