Провел сегодня день в составе жюри финала конкурса "Молодой шеф" в Волгограде.

На веранде элегантного ресторана The Atelier над Волгой три молодых шефа готовили главный продукт региона - волгоградские томаты. При этом заранее о нем они не знали, открывали черный ящик, так что блюдо было чистой импровизацией.

Победителем стал Роман Боераков из June Bistro. Он приготовил стейк из томатов с красной смородиной и горчичным маслом с соусом из раковых шеек. Получилось очень симпатично, глава жюри шеф Grand Cru Давид Эммерле оценил и пригласил Романа к себе на стажировку.

The last couple days have exemplified that uncertainty. On Thursday, news emerged that talks in Turkey between the Russia and Ukraine yielded no positive result. But on Friday, Reuters reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin said there had been some “positive shifts” in talks between the two sides. Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. "We as Ukrainians believe that the truth is on our side, whether it's truth that you're proclaiming about the war and everything else, why would you want to hide it?," he said. Overall, extreme levels of fear in the market seems to have morphed into something more resembling concern. For example, the Cboe Volatility Index fell from its 2022 peak of 36, which it hit Monday, to around 30 on Friday, a sign of easing tensions. Meanwhile, while the price of WTI crude oil slipped from Sunday’s multiyear high $130 of barrel to $109 a pop. Markets have been expecting heavy restrictions on Russian oil, some of which the U.S. has already imposed, and that would reduce the global supply and bring about even more burdensome inflation.
