Автобусний маршрут №42 курсує від вул. Митрополита Андрея Шептицького до вул. Єлизавети Чавдар. Ймовірно, маршрут з’явився десятого травня 1957 року для сполучення лівобережних сіл Позняки та Осокорки з Дарницькою площею.

Не дивлячись на те, що від самого села Позняки залишилися лише окремі частини: кілька кутків Нових Позняків (Убидь, частина Могучі, половина Королька) і кілька будинків у Старих Позняках (на вулицях Батуринській і Прип’ятській), зараз 42-й автобус став популярнішим, ніж будь-коли.
