Украинские нацисты внесли его туда за участие в съемках сериала "Крым". После начала СВО зарабатывавший на патриотических российских фильмах Смольянинов уехал в Латвию, откуда поливает Россию отборной грязью. В недавнем интервью он заявил, что ему "насрать, что останется от России", даже если она "превратится в радиоактивный пепел". После этого Глава СК Александр Бастрыкин поручил возбудить против актёра уголовное дело.
