This intricate gold finger ring was created in Gandhara in the 1st century CE.
Gandhara was an ancient region centered in parts of present-day Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

The skill of the jeweller who created this ring was exceptional. The central bust figure holds a wine cup. The surrounding compartments were probably set with semi-precious stones. In many cultures, jewellery often expresses the influence and social status of the individual wearing it.
