Открытие сделано в одном озере в Северной Америке, но, я думаю, у нас в Сибири то же самое. Просто никто никогда не изучал так подробно озерные бактерии.
В целом картина такая. Вот жаркое лето. Какие-то бактерии начинают доминировать. А потом суровая зима. Все, другие доминируют, более стойкие к холодам. Потом опять. Потом опять. В результате все сообщество бактерий вроде пытается эволюционировать, а ничего не получается, вот уже миллионы лет они застряли на одном уровне, и туда-сюда их носит.
А мы и так знаем, что смена сезонов, зима и слякоть – все это плохо очень. Может, не будь у нас зимы, и мы бы эволюционировали быстрее.
