A BAGPIPE TUNE IN HONOR OF THE BRETONS IN WW1.
My great-grandfather's main regiment was the 116 RI du Morbihan. The regiment was relieved in 1915 by the 8 th Argyll, a Scottish regiment. Scottish regiment. At the time, the pipers of the Sutherland Highlanders and their Breton brothers quickly forged friendly relations. At the request of the commander of the 8th Argyll, a march was specially dedicated to the regiment, composed by William Lawrie. "The 8th Argyll farewell to the 116th" was played when the Bretons left their billet, and its score was later preserved in a Scottish museum.
