Григория Крашкевича арестовали летом 1921 года и вместе с тремя другими арестантами должны были довезти в штаб обороны 2-го Донского округа, чтобы рассматривать дела против них. Но в штаб арестованных так и не довезли, а расстреляли по дороге, встретив повстанческий отряд. Конвоиры сослались на то, что двое арестованных якобы пытались сбежать, забрали у них одежду, обувь и все имевшееся.
Интересно в этом деле вот что: сын Григория Петр сам инициировал расследование гибели отца, ходил и расспрашивал местных жителей об обстоятельствах задержания, подавал заявления в следственные органы, дело даже дошло до суда (на котором обвинения с убийц, правда, сняли).
