Переехав осенью на берега Вяйняйоки, первым делом купили швейную машинку и портновский манекен. И вот, новый женин воротничок по мотивам любимых балто-кривичских ужей и элементами вышивки костюма Смаленшчыны. Как известно, кривичи почитали ужей как священных существ, поили их молоком, называли гаспадарамі)

Кстати, ужи издревле считались священными животным у куршей — балтского племени, населявшего некогда Куршскую косу в исторической Пруссии. У куршей ужи ассоциировались с духами предков или стражниками сокровищ. Надо будет поискать про ужей у латгалов.
