استالینیسم بزرگترین پیشرفتها و اکتشافات علمی آن زمان مانند نسبیت اینشتین، عدم حتمیت هایزنبرگ، پسیکانالیز فروید و غیره را انحرافی می‌شمرد، شهرسازی جدید و معماری مدرن و ساختن آسمان خراش‌ها را مظاهر سرمایه‌داری و امپریالیزم معرفی می‌کرد.
مکاتب جدید هنری و ادبی ماند فوتوریسم و کوبیسم را انحطاطی و هنرمندان بزرگی مانند چارلز چاپلین، پیکاسو و کافکا را منحط و انحرافی می‌دانست. احزاب کمونیسم جهان مجبور بودند تمام این نظریات را بی چون و چرا قبول کنند و می‌کردند.

Crude oil prices edged higher after tumbling on Thursday, when U.S. West Texas intermediate slid back below $110 per barrel after topping as much as $130 a barrel in recent sessions. Still, gas prices at the pump rose to fresh highs. The news also helped traders look past another report showing decades-high inflation and shake off some of the volatility from recent sessions. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' February Consumer Price Index (CPI) this week showed another surge in prices even before Russia escalated its attacks in Ukraine. The headline CPI — soaring 7.9% over last year — underscored the sticky inflationary pressures reverberating across the U.S. economy, with everything from groceries to rents and airline fares getting more expensive for everyday consumers. The regulator said it had received information that messages containing stock tips and other investment advice with respect to selected listed companies are being widely circulated through websites and social media platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. "Markets were cheering this economic recovery and return to strong economic growth, but the cheers will turn to tears if the inflation outbreak pushes businesses and consumers to the brink of recession," he added. Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers.
