ستاره‌های نوترونی هسته‌های فروپاشیده‌ی ستاره‌هایی هستند که در یک ابرنواختر منفجر شده‌اند. جرمشون معمولا بین 1.4 تا 2 برابر جرم خورشید، ولی شعاعشون فقط حدود 10 تا 12 کیلومتره!
برای درک تراکم: تصور کن جرم خورشید (که قطرش 1.4 میلیون کیلومتره)در یک کره‌ی کوچیک‌تر از تهران فشرده بشه!
چگالی متوسطشون حدود 10¹⁷ کیلوگرم بر متر مکعبه، یعنی: یک قاشق چای‌خوری از ماده‌ی یک ستاره نوترونی ممکنه حدود ۵۰۰ میلیون تن وزن داشته باشه!
2.سرعت چرخش چقدر است؟ بعضی از ستاره‌های نوترونی، به‌ویژه نوع خاصی به‌نام پولسار، با سرعت‌های بسیار بالا می‌چرخند پولسارهای جوان ممکنه با سرعتی بیش از 30 بار در ثانیه بچرخند.
پولسارهای میلی‌ثانیه‌ای: می‌تونن تا 700 بار در ثانیه هم بچرخن! (مثلاً PSR J1748–2446ad سریع‌ترین شناخته‌شده‌ست) جالبه بدونی هرچقدر یک جسم متراکم‌تر باشه،می‌تونه با سرعت بیشتری بچرخه. چون بیشتر جرمش نزدیک به محور دوران متمرکزه، لحظه‌ی اینرسی پایین‌تری داره و در نتیجه می‌تونه با چرخش سریع‌تری پایدار بمونه.

That hurt tech stocks. For the past few weeks, the 10-year yield has traded between 1.72% and 2%, as traders moved into the bond for safety when Russia headlines were ugly—and out of it when headlines improved. Now, the yield is touching its pandemic-era high. If the yield breaks above that level, that could signal that it’s on a sustainable path higher. Higher long-dated bond yields make future profits less valuable—and many tech companies are valued on the basis of profits forecast for many years in the future.
