20 декабря 1917 Совет народных комиссаров РСФСР издал Декрет об образовании Всероссийской Чрезвычайной Комиссии по борьбе с контрреволюцией и саботажем при Совете народных комиссаров РСФСР (ВЧК при СНК РСФСР).
ВЧК и ее многочисленные правопреемники вне зависимости от названия были страшным и непримиримым врагом всякой антисоветской сволочи, а контрразведывательные операции "Трест" и "Синдикат-2" по ликвидации подпольных антисоветских организаций, ликвидация атамана Дутова, похищение генералов Миллера и Кутепова вошли во всевозможные учебные пособия для будущих поколений работников государственной безопасности.
