Russian Experts Conclude Their Visit to Cairo 🇪🇬

From 18 to 21 May, a Russian expert delegation visited Egypt, organized by the Primakov Center. The delegation consisted of representatives of the Institute of Oriental Studies, MGIMO, National Research University MEPhI, HSE, Sechenov University and Russian NGOs.

Key points:

🔵 The visit lasted 3️⃣дня
🔵 The delegation visited 3️⃣ academic and research centers: the Egyptian Council for International Affairs, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and held a discussion together with Al-Hiwar Center
🔵 The Russian House in Cairo hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners of the Egyptian Environmental and Public Benefit Projects Competition.
🔵 Among the topics discussed were the development of scientific, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, partnership within the BRICS framework and exchange of public initiatives.

Как меняется безопасность на Ближнем Востоке — взгляд из России и Турции

3 июня в Центре Примакова прошел экспертный семинар «Архитектура безопасности на Ближнем Востоке в условиях глобальных трансформаций», организованный совместно с Центром ближневосточных исследований (ORSAM).

Программа включала две сессии:

🔵 «Ближневосточная политика США и Китая»

Эксперты обсуждили участие мировых держав в региональной повестке, особенности политики Китая, а также влияние российско-турецких отношений на ближневосточную динамику.

🔵«Какую роль Россия и Турция могут сыграть в процессе восстановления Сирии»

В центре внимания — сирийский вопрос в контексте двусторонних отношений, вызовы и перспективы для регионального сотрудничества.

В мероприятии приняли участие ведущие эксперты из ИМЭМО, ИВ РАН, МГИМО МИД России и ИСАА МГУ.

Семинар стал продолжением дискуссии по вопросам региональной безопасности, начатой в Анкаре в 2024 году.

How Security in the Middle East Is Changing: A Russian-Turkish Perspective

On June 3, the Primakov Center hosted an expert seminar titled “The Architecture of Security in the Middle East Amid Global Transformations,” organized in cooperation with the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM).

The program included two key sessions:

🔵 “Middle Eastern Policies of the U.S. and China”

Experts discussed the involvement of global powers in regional affairs, the specifics of China’s policy, and the impact of Russian-Turkish relations on the dynamics in the Middle East.

🔵“What Role Can Russia and Turkey Play in the Reconstruction of Syria?”

The discussion focused on the Syrian issue within the context of bilateral relations, as well as the challenges and prospects for regional cooperation.

The seminar brought together leading experts from IMEMO, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MGIMO University, and the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Moscow State University.

The event continued the dialogue on regional security issues launched in Ankara in 2024.
