Ранее беглые «хорошие русские» подали иски с требованиями снять с них статус иноагентов, но они были отклонены за продолжающееся распространение материалов СМИ-иноагентов и высказывания, дискредитирующие русскую армию.
Также учитывалось то, что Варламов зарабатывает благодаря зарубежным донатам в рамках своего блога, а Семен Слепаков в 2020-2022 годах получал финансирование из-за границы. Статус иноагента не позволяет осудившим СВО и публично высказавшимся в поддержку врага «звездам» осуществлять деятельность в России так же, как раньше, и, соответственно, получать прежние гонорары.
