Трохи гарних новин. У міру того, як Росія закручує гайки все тугіше, корінне населення стає все більш незадоволеним. Імперія ось-ось впаде. Питання в тому, чи допоможе демократичне суспільство зробити це швидше. Ну тобто, без санкцій і постачання зброї цього б не сталося. Отже, ми повинні тиснути сильніше.

Так, вони мали б протестувати з 2022 року проти війни, проти того, щоби вбивати(ся) в Україні. Але все ж, краще пізніше, краще так, ніж ніколи і ніяк. Я бачу в цих людях союзників.

A piece of good news. As russian is screwing the ties tighter, indigenous people are getting increasingly dissatisfied. The empire is about to fall. The question is whether the democratic society is going help it fall sooner. I mean, without the sanctions and weapon supply this wouldn't happening. So, we must push harder.

Yes, they should've been protesting since 2022 against the war, against their people (getting) kill(ed)ing in Ukraine. But, I'd say better later than never. I see these people as allies

🔥 In Gorno-Altaysk, 4,000 people took part in a rally against municipal reform.

People held signs reading “Turchak must resign, no to single-level government” and “We oppose the occupation of our lands by oligarchs.”

In the Altai Republic, conflict continues over municipal reform initiated by regional head Andrei Turchak on orders from Moscow to strengthen its power. The reform aims to eliminate the system of village councils, which will deprive the rural population of their representatives in power, and the villages are predominantly inhabited by the indigenous population of Altai.

The Russian-Ukrainian war demonstrates the illusory nature of popular ideas about the strength of peace and the relentless advance of social progress. Moreover, the very risk of new Russian expansions into the EU has revealed the inability of old defense alliances to fulfill their declared tasks. Even if the war does not directly affect European countries in the coming years, militarization will significantly affect the usual proportions of state budgets, the level of democratic freedoms, social policy, the influence of right-wing movements, and the protection of private life.
What does the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war teach us?
What should anarchists and democratic leftists prepare for?
What organizational forms are most resistant to social upheavals?
We suggest talking about this with Ukrainian combatant, activist of the organization "Social Movement" Fedir Ustynov.
The event will also include an action of solidarity with Denis Matsola and Vladislav "Iskra" Zhuravlev, left-wing activists who have been tortured in Russian captivity for over three years.

Fedir Ustinov is a member of the Ukrainian leftist organization Sotsialnyj Rukh (Social Movement), an experienced student and union activist who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. During his military leave, he has permission to visit Europe and is using this opportunity to share his thoughts with European comrades.

🇺🇦🇵🇸 We as @resist_UAde oppose the ultra-Zionist politics of the bar @Bajszel, but we understand that this event was organised at very short notice, and that this bar offered a space. Fedir Ustinov and other members of the Ukrainian Social Movement @socruh deserve support, because of the important work they do.

@socruh has itself long ago adopted anti-Zionist positions in solidarity with Palestinians, and therefore we are reposting this event despite our support for a boycott of @bajszel.
