В 1900 году в буддийском скальном храме монах Ван Юаньлу случайно обнаружил замурованную комнату. Там хранилось более 60 000 древних рукописей.
Судьба коллекции
Больше половины собрания было вывезено из Китая — осталось лишь 14 000 документов. Но открытие дало старт новой дисциплине — дуньхуаньским исследованиям (dunhuangxue), обогатившей знания о культурных контактах вдоль Великого шёлкового пути и оказавшей влияние на востоковедение как в Азии, так и на Западе.

DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman.
