Сегодня, в День Конституции РФ, в сквере на Земляном валу возле московского Сахаровского центра люди приносят цветы к Памятнику Свободе.
Монумент Свободе был открыт в 1996 году одновременно с открытием Сахаровского центра. Второй подобный памятник стоит в Берлине. Оба сооружения выполнены из фрагментов Берлинской стены.
Согласно задумке авторов, московский Монумент Свободы символизирует собой падение Берлинской стены.
