Lithium batteries are the new inkjet printer ink. Change my mind.
Seriously, every modern gadget (headphones, laptops, cell phones, smartwatches, ect) all have hard to replace batteries. Batteries that degrade with use.
Batteries that degrade faster the more times a day you have to charge them.
My fold6's 4.4Ah battery is dead by lunchtime at work, incentivising me to rapid charge it on lunch break (which is also not good for it) to make it through the day. I don't even work a 12 hour shift!
My 2,000$ phone is going to have a good 600 cycles put on its battery in a year at this rate. LiHV cells (according to google's AI thing) will drop 20% of their capacity after 170-230 cycles. The battery life when new isn't even enough to make it through the day, let alone after a couple years of use.
Wireless earbuds also use batteries, but they have a second layer of batteries to degrade, the case!
Once these batteries degrade to a poor capacity, you'll feel it's time to buy a new gadget, since you can't just go down to your local microcenter and buy a new battery.
Laptops are the least offensive in this aspect. Yes, you can even replace the glued in batteries in a mac, but good luck convincing the same end user that used to be able to snap a new one on the back of their laptop, or even carry extras.
