Анонсированный ещё до Нового года массовый протест проходит под лозунгом «Никогда не кусай руку, которая тебя кормит». Возмущённые работники сельского хозяйства перекрывают федеральные трассы, блокируют улицы и площади городов. В Эмдене из-за этого прекратил работу завод Volkswagen.

По официальным данным, в протестах участвуют порядка 700 тракторов. Поводом для акции стала отмена льгот для сельского хозяйства и скидок на дизельное топливо.

Власти пытались в судебном порядке заставить протестующих открыть проезд по заблокированным трассам, но суд встал на сторону фермеров и постановил, что те должны пропускать лишь скорую помощь и машины других социально значимых служб.
